English Vinglish

We are excited to unveil “English Vinglish” a groundbreaking initiative by Rotary Club of Calcutta Avyanna, The Education Trust and Pathanam, designed to empower young learners in rural West Bengal with the gift of English language proficiency. This unique program offers a 100% free Spoken English course tailored for students from classes 1 to 4, bridging the educational divide between rural and urban communities.

At the heart of “English Vinglish” lies our commitment to ensuring that every child, regardless of economic background, has the opportunity to master English and build confidence. With 16 interactive online sessions over two months, our mission will connect 60 eager learners with highly qualified mentors, including college students pursuing English Honors, teacher trainees, and Voice & Accent experts. Each mentor will guide a small batch of 15 students, ensuring personalized attention and effective learning.

Utilizing the Pathanam Blended Knowledge Management System, “English Vinglish” brings high-quality education to the doorstep of rural families, fulfilling their dreams of providing their children with the skills to compete confidently with their peers in elite schools. This mission is more than just a language course—it’s a step towards equal opportunities and a brighter future for rural students.
